The Vintage Horror Movie Series never made it past the concept art stage, and it is unknown whether Hasbro or Takara, the company that owns the rights to produce Transformers figures in Japan, actually obtained permission from Universal Pictures to create toys in the likeness of these movie monsters. This line would have been composed of toys based on Dracula and other Universal monsters, including the Creature from the Black Lagoon and the Fly. As revealed in the 2001 Japan-exclusive book Transformers Generations Deluxe, which featured a plethora of photographs and obscure details on the original Transformers toys of the 80s, a Vintage Horror Movie Series of figures was once planned. Surprisingly, this is not the first instance that Count Dracula has been associated with the Transformers franchise.
